Marie sighed as she wandered through the streets of Hogsmeade, her breath expelling visible puffs of warm air that contrasted with the chill of the outside. Her diminutive frame was bundled up in a black, thigh-length wool pea coat. Her hair was just two shades of brown, instead of brown and hot pink--just a medium brown, and a light brown where the pink had been. She wasn't rid of the pink, it has just rinsed out and she hadn't had the time to re-dye it. She shivered and rubbed her gloved hands together, trying to keep them warm as she entered a warm cafe.
Lee grinned and shook his head with an amused chuckle as Fred and George bemoaned the quality of their competition. Zonkos, once their haven, and now their rival in supplying pranksters, was largely oblivious to the intelligence gathering within.
"So lads, how do we intend to improve upon the wet-start fireworks?" He asked, casually popping a candied almond, leaning against a display and looking between the twins. The grin they shared worried the Gryffindor, who nearly shivered. "You know what, I don't want to know," he commented, shaking his head. The twins chortled, and Lee turned his attention to the window, looking at the snow drifting down, watching the street. His attention locked upon...a grin crossed his face and he turned, bowing lightly to his friends.
"Alas my honourary triplets, your brother by a different mother has matters to attend to. I'll see you in the common room."
Careful not to properly turn his back to his devious friends, he made his way out to the street, where he hunted...ah, there!
Aware of how stupid this probably made him look, he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans and did the stupid half-jog-run that no one can possibly look cool doing, ramming his foot between door and building before it could close behind a particularly fat couple. Sliding in, he glanced through the building, shaking the snow out of his dreadlocks. Ha, she even had her back to him. Calmly and quietly, he wandered over, looking over her shoulder at a newspaper that had been left on the table.
"Chudley Cannons lose pre-season game to no one's surprise," he read aloud, and pulled an 'oh, how interesting' expression. "Well, Ron'll be pleased to hear about that. Wotcher, Mousy."

She took off her coat, revealing a fitted black hoodie and pale blue jeans over black leather combat boots. She pulled off her gloves and stuck them in her coat pockets as she ordered a pumpkin spice Chai latte, with extra spice (picky, picky xD). She smirked as she heard a familiar voice speaking to her, suppressing her urge to jump at the shock of the silence being broken.
It was Lee, that silly, silly boy. Marie is unshockable! Smirking, she replied, "Yes, that's all very interesting, if you partake in activities so juvenile as quidditch." She was totally joking, but she did it just to get a reaction, and added, "Said the girl who 's soon trying out for her house's team." She smiled. as she finished speaking--she finally had to courage to try out.
"Hello, Lee."
Pft, Marie, you killjoy! Lee chuckled and slipped about to steal the chair across from her, leaning back in it and balancing on the back two legs as he listened to her, chuckling and shaking his head.
"So you finally listened to reason, eh? Brilliant. After Umbridge kicked half the team off, I'm sure they could use some good reserve players."
He grinned and winked.
"And maybe I'll comment on you along with Johnson. Think you can match her legs?"
He signaled a waiter for a manly pot of tea, and resumed balancing on his chair. We're a ninja. Oh yeah.
"So, 'side from coming to your senses regarding the murdering sport we lovingly call Quidditch, how's life?"
Lee Jordan -- Telling it like it is.
Marie laughed and shook her head, smiling brightly. "I guess I did." She sighed in disgust. "Ugh, Umbridge is such a cow. She's cow-ier than I am." She pouted. "And that's saying something."
Giggling, she responded, "Pfft, I can match any body part of hers." She gave him an over-exaggerated wink, then laughed some more.
Shrug-shrug.
"Things are okay, I guess. I'mn ot staying with my sister for Christmas break, so I suppose I'll be stuck at Hogwarts for break, all by my lonesome." She frowned. She hated being at Hogwarts, without her friends.
Ah, well.
She'd survive--Marie was made of pretty strong stuff...like bones and muscles. xD
Lee scowled at the thought of Umbridge, his hand itching subconsciously. 'I must not be cheeky' was emblazoned across his dark flesh, a biting red against it. It hurt like a sonuvabitch, but he said nothing regarding it. He'd live. Probably engrave it permanently with his attitude.
He snapped back to reality and grinned at Marie, arching a brow.
"Really now? Well, I think you need a professional opinion on that. I run a Voyeur Service, you know. I'll even provide my talents free of charge." His eyebrows waggled over-exxageratedly as he leered, before he chuckled and his expression resumed that mellow smile.
"Stuck at Hogwarts?" He repeated, arching a brow. He never considered it being 'stuck' there, but not everyone was like him, he had remind himself. Some people just didn't find endless hours of exploration all that great. He frowned and examined her, wondering...it'd be timing. He didn't want her to think he was pitying her...the waiter provided a well-timed distraction as a pot of tea arrived. He nodded in thanks before pouring himself a cup, leaning back in his chair to enjoy his leaves infused in water with milk squirted out of a cow. With sugar. Yeah.
"So, am I intruding on you and a super secret date?" He asked, draining half his cup before it registered. Yeah. Let the tea cool down. Blah, now his tongue is burned. :c

"I see you have one of her little presents. I have one, too." She showed him her pale hand, with the words 'I will attend class, regardless of who might be following me,' 'written' in pearlescent scars. Witness protection, indeed. She shook her head and scoffed.
Smiling again, she titled her head a bit and laughed. "You know, I might take you up on that." She nodded, and raised her eyebrows. "You know, for all of my body's flaws, I have magnificent nungas."
Marie sighed and shook her head. "No, no dates for Mousey here. Just...wandering. I had to get out of the common room, y'know? I hate being bored." She nodded. She was a Leo, hear her roar!
Aw man, and here he'd hoped she hadn't noticed. Still, seeing those words on her hand made an inner rage burn and his gaze darkened. Oh how he would just love to wring Umbridge's neck he mused as he picked her hand from the table and examined it.
"Yours healed up?" He asked, and winced. "Lucky you."
From the looks of his hand, it was probably going to become septic or something. He didn't pay it much attention.
"Flaws?" Lee snorted with amusement, then ceded that, hey, she'd endowed. "Well, we'll have to arrange a session, now won't we? Room of requirement, this evening?" Sexy eyebrow waggle.
Ah, well, he mused and brightened considerably.
"Excellent!" He chirped, trying a sip of his tea again. Ah, much better. "I didn't want to be shamelessly hitting on you and have some guy stand behind me and hex me before I became aware of the situation."
This happens a lot.

"I'm a quick healer, which is a very good thing." She nodded and frowned as she noticed Lee's expression. Her frown was soon replaced by a bright smile. "Hah, okay. Sounds god to me. I, as always, have nothing going on. My schedule is clear." She nodded and laughed.
Smirking, she replied, "I see. Nope, Mousey here is still sadly unattached. Or, at least, she might as well be." Frownpout. Alas, there was never any long-term luuuuurrrvvveee for the Mousey.
Lee nodded, dropping her hand after a moment and slouching in his chair with infinite lazy grace. Hands locking behind his dreads, he grinned wolfishly as she mentioned a clear schedule. Heh, he almost wondered if he could get her to really agree to that. Knowing Marie, it was entirely possible. Maybe not likely, but possible.
"Well, on the upside, at least you won't get caught in mouse traps." Ah. Relationships. Just like mouse traps, he philosophized. The cheese was just so tempting, and if you did it right, you were scotch free.
But your neck got snapped if you approached it incorrectly. Calculated risk, you see. "Of course, you could always join my harem."
Lee Jordan -- Telling it like it is.
Marie shrugged sadly, then sighed. "I guess you're right. It's just that, I don't like being alone." She nodded. Marie hated being lonely, absobloodlutely HATED it. She suddenly smiled lightly, and she said, "When you put it that way, I guess it doesn't sound so bad. After all, a girl with the nickname of Mousey certainly wouldn't want to be involved with any mousetraps." She laughed and nodded.
Sighing again, she stared at her hands. "I had a go at dating this one guy, Alex, but he cheated on me, dumped me for the girl he was cheating with, then disappeared. He recently re-appeared, and he says he wants to date me exclusively again. He gave me a diamond and saphire necklace that belonged ot his Grandma. I just don't know." She blinked, shrugged and bit her lip. "I mean, I still like him, but I like....this other guy, too. I have not a clue what to do." RHYMINKS!
She laughed until she snorted; a harem, that's an idea to behold. "Thanks, but no thanks. I've never been able to deal with sharing a guy." She began the shameless flirting. "Especially, a guy as great as you." Eyebrow wiggle.
"Ah," Lee managed, feeling rather stupid. The words he usually excelled with seemed to elude him, leaving him with an awkward silence most foreign to him. He took a sip of his tea to give himself something to do, the warm cup dwarfed by his large, calloused hand. He could see tea leaves, all shriveled in the dredges of his drink. Vaguely, he wondered if there was any truth to divination, if his fate was really lurking within the china cup.
Listening to her describe her ex made him tense a little--Lee usually was the go-to guy to rant about your problems with, and he was usually okay with it. But something had his skin crawling, a rage close to boiling over in his blood. He glared into his cup.
After all, Marie was a friend. And as a Gryffindor, was it not his duty to despise anyone who ever harmed her? Setting down the cup as he heard a quiet crack, he ignored the splinter across the cup, looking up with a light smile.
He's trash, don't let him take you in--!!
"Well, go with your gut." He commented lightly, and then let his expression fall dramatically. "Alas, my harem will never be quite as wondrous as it could have been with your presence gracing us, Mousy-Marie," he offered a sad little sigh, before snorting and grinning good naturedly. "Ha, yeah, I am a pretty great guy. My ladies know they can trust me to be fantastic."
Wink~

"I would, but I just don't know what to do. The situation's tearing me up..." At this, she took a worried glance in all directions around her, then looked back at Lee. "Please don't freak out...I just need to show somebody. I need somebody to know. I don't know. It's complicated." As she said this, she pulled the sleeves of her long-sleeved black shirt up to her elbows, showcasing a series of cuts and scratches, some healing, some scarred. Some were still fresh, a vicious red casting an eerie pallor on her skin.
She smiled lightly, sadly, tugging her sleeves down after a few moments. She stretched the sleeves past her hands, as if to hide herself. She laughed quietly, "Well, I guess you'll just have to learn to manage without me taking part in your harem." She smiled again before shrugging and speaking again. "Would I be included in this category?"
Lee paused with the cup at his lips, carefully keeping his face blank of expression, watching her. She tugged the sleeves down and tried to move on, but he was quiet, contemplative.
"Why did you show me that?" He asked quietly, raising his black eyes to meet hers in a piercing gaze. "What am I supposed to make of this?"
He felt strangely detached. He knew he was angry, but he was so...calm about it. He wanted to blame someone, but he didn't want to be blaming...
The teacup cracked in his hand.
Lee Jordan -- Telling it like it is.
Marie shrugged slightly. "I don't know. It was stupid to show you. I'm sorry." She bit her lip and sighed. "I guess I just needed someone to know, to validate my feelings." Shrugging again, she added, "I don't know if that made any sense to you. It's complicated."
She furrowed her eyebrows worriedly as the teacup cracked. "I'm sorry for bothering you..." She frowned as she stood up to gather her things, assuming she had annoyed/bother/offended/etc. Lee. She hadn't meant to do that. She, in a confused state of indifference, needed somebody to know, to see how she was feeling.
It was messed up, yes. But Marie just wanted someone to know that she was upset, and that seemed the simplest way.
"I'm sorry..." She mumbled under her breath as she pulled on her hoodie, then her coat, moving to exit the coffeehouse.
That wasn't good. Lee knew he should sit, cool down, but Merlin's beard she was being difficult and--!
He was probably going to regret this.
"Marie!" She wasn't responding. Oh bugger this. He threw a couple of galleons into his cup of tea and grabbed his cloak to run out the door, looking around--there! "Marie!"
Run! Run Lee boy! Whoa! Don't slip! Run run run~~!
HAHA! Aren't we glad we're fast? Catch upper arm and--
"Marie, what the hell?!"
Lee Jordan -- Telling it like it is.
Marie sighed and chewed her lip as he grabbed her arm. She shrugged herself out of his grip before crossing her arms tightly across her chest. "I didn't want to bother you. I'm sorry..."
She shook her head, exhaling a warm puff of air that emerged as a cloud. "You looked like you didn't want me there, so I bailed. I'm sorry..."
She shook her head once, sadly. "I just...I thought you'd understand, is all." She shrugged and rubbed her arms in an attempt to keep warm.
Lee stared as she pulled her arm away from him and curled in upon herself. His hand dangled rather uselessly in the air for a moment, before he let it fall and he jammed his hands in his pockets, looking guilty and almost petulant as he pulled his eyes away.
"Look I...I don't understand these things, aight? I'm thick, but I...I want to." He looked up, steeling his gaze. "It's just kind of a shock, you know? Merlin's beard, Marie, I'm...don't take it...agh dammit, I told you I suck at this!"
Except, it was more like he was yelling at himself than at her. Running a hand through his dreads, he averted his eyes again. He hated being unsure, weak. It...it wasn't him.
"Look, I'm...not good at this...but I'm here, you know?"
And Lee, the master of words, found he could find nothing else to say.
Lee Jordan -- Telling it like it is.
Marie nodded solemnly. "Yeah, okay."
A small smile peeked out from under her sullenness, and she added, "Thanks. It's just..." She sighed and shrugged. "It's so hard for me here, because I only have a couple of friends here. I'm not outgoing or a social butterfly, and it's hard for me to make friends--always has been. In every school I've ever gone to, I've always been a loner, and..."
She paused and giggled to herself. "I'm going to stop before I seem too self-piteous. The point is, I don't really have a whole lot of people here that I can depend on, so...thanks for listening."
She nodded once before leaning in to hug him tightly. As she moved backwards to break the hug, she kissed his cheek lightly. Her eyes grew wide as she walked backwards, assuming that she had bugged him. "I'm so sorry..."
