[[Sorry for the delay! Work is busy and leave has been too~~]]
"Really?" Scout asked around a mouthful of waffles. She swallowed and grinned a bit, tapping her lips with her fork. "Wow… never would have thought. He's always come off as such a total BAMF..."
She chuckled quietly to herself and shook her head, hooking her hair behind her ears. That was good information. Yes, that… that definitely helped. Explained some things, too. Why his products were always so… well, fabulous. She'd simply thought him a man of excellent taste. She supposed this could potentially explain it. Stereotypes were fun like that.
"Does it mention anything about his lover? Because that's where we have to start."
She didn't lift her eyes from the file, scouring the scant papers intently, humming quietly to herself. She agreed, for once. Love was easily exploited. But, alas… She frowned, scrunching her nose. Anything… she flipped through the papers and sighed, shaking her head.
"We'll have to find that on our own. Bugger." Finishing her meal, she dropped her cutlery gracelessly on her plate and looked up to Arjen. She looked annoyed, but it faded after a moment as she grinned crookedly at her partner in crime.
"Could be fun, though. I'll get in touch with some old friends, they might have more information. Can always hang around his crowd, see if we can catch any gossip…"
She shrugged. Scout was, frankly, excited. This was promising to be fun. She just had to get her family out of the area and safe. She rose and dropped a few notes onto the table, stuffing her wallet into her pocket quite swiftly.
"Thanks for lunch, mate. I'm going to go obligate my folks, but um…" She scratched the back of her neck a touch awkwardly. "What do you want me to do after that?"
Now this was a weird sight; Scout actually being subordinate. She wasn't sure she enjoyed it.
In fact, she was pretty sure she didn't.
